Kadai Paneer Recipe – Paneer Recipes

Kadai Paneer Recipe – Paneer Recipes : Today we are going to cook kadhayi Paneer. Paneer is known as cottage cheese in English and in northern parts of India known as Chenna. It is an ancient dairy product and you can also prepare it at home. Paneer is easy to digest and a high protein food. It is rich in protein, fat, minerals and carbohydrates. Also high in calcium which helps in building strong bones and avoid bones related problems. Women should add paneer in their diet chart because it is useful for bones and helps in reducing weight. And very interesting thing about paneer is that it prevents your body from cancer. It is also a subsitute of meat for vegetarians. We can make variety of dishes with the help of tasty yet healthy paneer like panner roll, palak paneer, matar paneer, paneer tikka, chili paneer, paneer pakoda (paneer fritters), paneer cutlet, paneer samosa, paneer pizza, paneer fruit salad, paneer chilla, paneer butter masala, saag paneer, shahi paneer and etc.. Today, many of international fast food restaurants in India offering paneer products to attract customers as it is favourite among children.Today we are going to make delicious Kadai Paneer recipe which is the second most favorite cuisine in India (of course, the first one is Dal makhni) . You can make kadayi paneer dry, semi – dry or with gravy and it is one of the easiest paneer recipe. The Kadai Paneer Recipe is very simple and easy to make but can increase your hunger.

Prep time: 15 mins  |  Cook time: 30 mins  |  Serves: 6

INGREDIENTS FOR Kadai Paneer Recipe :

  • Paneer Cubes(Cottage Cheese) – 500 gm
  • Chopped Onions – 2
  • Capsicum(Bell pepper) – 2
  • Tomato Puree – 3
  • Cream – 2-3 Tbsp
  • Oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Water – 1 Cup
  • Finely chopped green chilli – 1-2
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 1 Tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
  • Kadhayi paneer masala – 1.5 Tsp
  • Red chili powder – 1 Tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – Pinch
  • Kasoori Methi Dried (Fenugreek) – to taste
  • Cloves – 2
  • Cardamom – 2
  • Dry red chilies – 4
  • Bay leaf – 1

HOW TO MAKE Kadai Paneer Recipe

QUICK STEPS :
  • Add 2 tbsp oil to the pan and heat it.
  • Add Bay leaf, Cardamom, Cloves , Dry red chilies , pinch of Asafoetida , Cumin Seeds , Chopped Onion , Salt , Capsicum (Bell pepper).
  • Cover it and let it cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Now add Tomato Puree to it and Ginger Garlic paste, Red chili powder ,Coriander Powder, Garam Masala and Kadhayi paneer masala.
  • Add half cup of Water.
  • Mix it and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add Finely chopped green chilli and Cream .
  • Add Paneer Cubes (Cottage Cheese) and fenugreek leaves.
  • Take a pinch of Food color and mix water in it.
  • Add it and mix it well. Let it cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • KADHAYI PANEER is ready.
BRIEF COOKING PROCESS :

STEP 1 : First of all take a pan and add 2 tbsp oil to it and heat it. Add 1 Bay leaf, 2 Cardamom , 2 Cloves, 4 Dry red chilies and add pinch of Asafoetida and 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds to it and and allow them to sizzle.  After that  add Chopped Onions to the pan and cook it till onion turns golden brown in color. Mix it well. After that add 1 Tsp Salt and add Capsicum (Bell pepper) to the pan. Mix it and cover it and let it cook for 4-5 minutes until bell pepper is just tender, not too soft.

STEP 2 : Now add Tomato Puree to it and mix it well. After 2-3 minutes add 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste , 1 tsp Red chili powder, 2 tsp Coriander Powder, 1 tsp Garam Masala and 1.5 tsp Kadhayi paneer masala to the pan and mix it well (You can add half cup of Water if you want gravy). Mix it and simmer it for 2-3 minutes.

STEP 3 : Now add finely chopped green chilli, 2 tbsp Cream (you can add more if you want more cream ) and add Paneer Cubes (Cottage Cheese) to it. Take (Dried Kasoori Methi) fenugreek leaves and rub it on hand and spread it on the curry. It will give a nice fragrance to your dish. To add color to your gravy,  take a pinch of Food color in a bowl and pour water in it and mix it well. Then pour it in the pan and mix it well. Cover it and let it cook for 4-5 minutes .

Ready to eat : KADHAYI PANEER is ready to be served with hot chapattis or Naan. Garnish with some more cream. Serve

TIPS :

You can cut the paneer slab into triangle shapes instead of cubes.

You can use ‘malai’ in place of cream.
